Quality should never be a compromise. Our cosmetic testing and consulting services are based on ISO 22716, the International Standard for Cosmetic Products. We are equipped to perform laboratory testing to ensure your products maintain their intended physical, chemical and microbiological quality, and their intended functionality when stored under the appropriate conditions. Test results can be used to verify that your products are fit for use. They can also be used to optimise formulation characteristics, create correct label instructions, verify container compatibility, determine shelf life expectations and evaluate important product characteristics before and after opening. Based in Carrum Downs Victoria, Australia, we provide services for clients located all over the world. Contact us today to find out more so we can tailor our services to meet your needs.

As a brand owner with 10 years+ experience in developing and testing our own raw materials and cosmetic products, and with 15+ years of pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing experience, we understand the potential roadblocks and frustrations faced during the product development and manufacturing processes! We can help you source ingredients that are healthy for your clients and safe for our planet. We can also test the water used in your formulations and processing to verify its quality. We use a series of standard in-vitro (laboratory based) tests which have been specifically designed for the cosmetic industry to analyse your finished products.

Scale-up from the laboratory to pilot batches or full scale production is a big step to take. There will be different equipment, different processing conditions and different risks to consider. We can help you minimise these risks by providing expert guidance during every step of the process. We are qualified to perform GMP audits, supplier suitability assessments, and risk assessments. We can also prepare manufacturing documentation and assist with troubleshooting, should an issue arise.

Although real time stability testing is the most comprehensive way to evaluate your products, we also offer a 15 day preliminary stability testing program. Preliminary testing is conducted to gain information about how formulations perform under stressed conditions at one particular point in time. Tests include freeze thaw cycling, thermal cycling, and microbial testing. A container compatibility risk assessment is also included. This testing is well suited to assessing emulsions, is ideal for developmental formulations, and is a great start if you have a limited budget to work with. We are also happy to discuss other testing options to suit your budget and stage of development.
New Capabilities
Peroxide Values of Vegetable Oils
Anhydrous nut and seed oil based raw materials and finished product formulations have the potential to degrade under certain conditions. The amount of peroxides indicate the degree of primary oxidation, and therefore its likeliness of becoming rancid. A lower number of peroxides indicates a good quality of oil and a good preservation status.
Unsaturated free fatty acids react with oxygen and form peroxides, which determine a series of chain reactions that generate the production of volatile substances. Those reactions are accelerated by high temperature and by light and oxygen exposure. Our stability testing regime (accelerated and real time) includes the assessment of the peroxide values in different oils. Analysis of peroxide values in raw materials is also available.
